We typically reply within 24 hours.
Quick Start — 3 Steps
- 1Set up your accounts — Visit Accounts to configure your account type (live, funded, or eval), starting balance, platform, and prop firm. This lets Edgetweak calculate accurate drawdown and goal tracking.
- 2Upload your trades — Go to Upload and drop a CSV export from your trading platform. Select your account, platform, and prop firm (if applicable), then hit upload.
- 3Explore your data — Your Dashboard now shows key metrics, equity curves, and breakdowns. Head to Edge Report to see pattern detection, performance grades, and personalized coaching. Updated every Saturday.
Uploading Trades
Edgetweak accepts CSV trade exports from all major futures platforms. Select your platform, optionally choose your prop firm, and drag-and-drop your file.
Supported Platforms
Supported Prop Firms
Manual Commissions
- Enter a rate in Override default commission per contract per side.
- Choose Any Instrument for a global rate, or pick a symbol (for example NQ or MNQ) and click Add Override.
- Overrides are saved per account and platform for future uploads. For most formats, configured commissions apply when imported fees are missing. TopstepX uses configured commission rates instead of its CSV fee columns. Check the per-contract, per-side rate before importing.
Duplicate trades are detected automatically — re-uploading the same file won't create duplicates.
Dashboard
The Dashboard is your home base. At a glance you'll see:
- Key metrics — net P&L, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, max drawdown, and more.
- Equity curve — cumulative P&L over time with drawdown overlay.
- Breakdowns — performance by instrument, time of day, day of week, and session.
- Goal tracking — see progress towards profit targets for funded/eval accounts.
Use the date range picker and account/instrument filters at the top to focus on specific periods or strategies.
Accounts
Create accounts by entering each account's details in the Add Accounts area. Click Add + to add multiple accounts at once, finally click Create Account(s) to create and save the accounts.
- Account — your account ID/name (for example
LIVE-12345) used across imports and filters. - Platform — default execution platform for that account (or No Platform).
- Prop Firm — default firm assignment for the account (optional).
- Starting Balance — baseline balance used for account-level balance/progress and rule calculations.
- Account Type — Live, Funded, or Eval.
- Copy Role — None, Leader, or Follower for copy-trading workflows.
- Exact Copy — only available when role is Follower; marks that follower account as eligible for exact-copy replication/deduping flows.
- Balance Adjustment (+/-) — remove monthly fees (for example
+500or-250) that updates Starting Balance when you click Apply. Then click Save Account to update. - Profile Enabled — toggles whether that account profile is active for rules/evaluation workflows.
- Delete Account — choose Keep trades (archives/hides account) or Delete trades (permanent account + trade removal).
Use Advanced Rules on each account card for full rule configuration, and review archived IDs in the Archived Accounts section.
Prop Firms
If you trade with a prop firm, enter your account on the Prop Firms page. This enables:
- Payout and transaction history tracking by date, account, and firm.
- Cashflow analysis across prop firms, including purchases vs payouts over time.
- Payout coverage stats to see which firms are covering costs and generating net returns.
- PDF export — in the All Transactions section, use Export PDF to download a transaction report. The export follows your current firm, transaction type, payment account, and date filters, making it useful for tax prep, payout reconciliation, or sharing a clean summary with your accountant (not for direct filing, subject to data entry by user).
Trading Rules
Define your personal trading rules on the Rules page. Edgetweak evaluates your trades against these rules daily and shows you pass/fail results.
- Profile Enabled — turns rule checks on or off for the selected account.
- Daily Loss Limit — max realized loss allowed in a single session/day.
- Max Trailing Drawdown — rolling drawdown cap from your peak equity.
- Static Drawdown — max allowed drawdown measured from the starting balance that does not move.
- End-of-Day Drawdown — max allowed drawdown measured at end of session.
- Profit Target — profit objective for the account/rule profile.
- Minimum Trading Days — minimum number of trading days to pass eval or reach payout.
- Max Position Size — maximum contracts/shares allowed per position.
- Consistency % — caps how much of total profits can come from a single day.
- Max Trades — maximum number of trades allowed per session/day.
- Losing Trade Streak — maximum consecutive losing trades allowed.
- RTH Only — restricts trading to regular trading hours.
- RTH Start / RTH End — define the exact allowed intraday trading window.
- No Overnight — flags positions held past the session close.
- News Restriction Windows — add one or more Start/End/Label windows (for example CPI) to flag restricted news-time trades.
Rule compliance feeds into Edge Report — you'll see a compliance scorecard, top violations, and improvement suggestions.
Trading Journal
The Journal helps you build a daily trading log tied to your actual trade data.
- Daily entries — record your mood, rating (1–10), notes, setup tags, and mistakes for each trading day.
- Notes tab — save longer-form trading ideas, playbooks, research, checklists, and review notes separate from a single trading day. Organize notes into folders, pin important ones, search by title/content/tag, filter by folder or color, and attach chart screenshots or reference images.
- Setup tags — create custom setup labels (e.g. "Breakout", "Mean Reversion") to track what works.
- Mistake tracking — log common mistakes to surface behavioral patterns.
Journal data powers the Journal Patterns and Mood → P&L analysis in Edge Report — the more you journal, the better the coaching.
Trade Log
The Trade Log gives you a full sortable and filterable history of every imported trade. Click any trade to see its detail view, including an intraday price chart with your entry and exit marked.
Filter by account, instrument, date range, or direction to drill into specific areas of your performance.
- Embedded chart — the trade detail view shows the selected trade's price action with entry and exit markers, stop loss and profit target lines when available, and MFE/MAE so you can review execution quality.
- Full chart access — use the expand button in the trade detail chart to open a full-screen chart. This view gives you more room for review while keeping trade details, fills, notes, and edit controls beside the chart.
- Chart tools — switch time frames, toggle VWAP/volume/EMAs, draw horizontal lines, trend lines, rectangles, and Fibonacci retracements, choose drawing colors, and download a chart screenshot for journaling or mentor review.
- Multi-day trades — if a trade spans more than one trading session, the chart requests the full entry-through-exit range. If historical candle data is not available, EdgeTweak falls back to a fills-only chart instead.
Mentor
The Mentor page lets you share your data with mentors and review students who shared with you.
- My Mentors — add a mentor email to grant read-only access to your pages.
- My Students — if students shared with you, click View to enter mentor mode for that student.
- Mentor View Banner — a read-only banner appears at the top while viewing a student.
- Comments — mentors can leave comments on student journal days in the journal side panel.
Mentor mode is intentionally read-only for trade/account/rule data. Use Exit in the banner to return to your own account.
Sharing
Share your daily trading results with a single click. On the Dashboard, use the share button on any trading day to generate a public snapshot link showing your P&L, equity curve, and top trades for that day — without exposing your account details.
Understanding Edge Report
Edge Report analyzes all your trades using pattern detection and AI-powered coaching. Select an account to generate a full report. Here's what each section means:
Performance Grade
An overall letter grade (A+ through F) based on your win rate, profit factor, risk management, and behavioral discipline. Aim for consistent improvement over time.
Key Metrics
A scorecard of 15 core metrics including net P&L, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, drawdown, average win/loss, risk-reward ratio, and consecutive streaks.
Action Items
Concrete, prioritized suggestions for what to work on next. These are generated by AI based on patterns in your trading data.
Edge Analysis
Charts showing where your edge clusters — by instrument, time of day, session (Asian/London/NY), and trade direction (long vs short).
Risk & Trade Management
Visualizations of hold time distribution, risk-reward ratios, and position management patterns. Helps identify if you're cutting winners too early or holding losers too long.
Behavioral Patterns
Detects revenge trading, overtrading after losses, volume discipline issues, and other behavioral patterns that may be hurting your performance.
Journal Patterns
If you use the trading journal, this section correlates your mood, setup tags, and self-ratings with actual P&L — revealing which emotional states and setups produce your best results.
Rule Compliance
If you've defined trading rules, see your overall pass rate, recent compliance trend, and top violations. Helps you stay disciplined with your risk management.
Trade Grades
Individual trade scoring based on execution quality, risk-reward, timing, and how well each trade aligned with your defined edge.
Tips & Best Practices
- Upload regularly — the more data Edgetweak has, the better the insights. Upload after every trading session or at least weekly.
- Fill out your journal — mood and setup tracking unlocks powerful pattern correlations that pure trade data alone can't reveal.
- Set up rules first — define your risk rules before you start trading. Rule compliance tracking keeps you honest and feeds better AI analysis.
- Configure your starting balance — without it, drawdown percentages and goal tracking won't be accurate. Set this in Accounts.
- Review action items weekly — the AI generates specific things to focus on. Treat them as your trading homework.
- Use the dashboard filters — slice your data by date, account, and instrument to compare performance across different strategies or market conditions.
CSV Export Guides
Here's how to get your trade CSV from each platform:
Rithmic (R|Trader Pro)
Performance → Trade History → Export CSV. The file should contain columns for Symbol, Buy/Sell, Qty, Price, Date/Time, and Commission.
Tradovate
Open reports from the account dropdown, select a trade-activity report and date range, and download the CSV. Read the Tradovate import guide for supported layouts and a sample file.
TopstepX
Export completed trades from the Trades tab using your chosen date range. Check the commission configuration before uploading. Read the TopstepX import guide for supported fields and a sample file.
NinjaTrader 8
New → Trade Performance → Executions → Generate for date → right-click → Export. Edgetweak auto-detects the NinjaTrader format.
Generic CSV
Any CSV with trade data works. Edgetweak tries to auto-detect common column names like Symbol, Side, Entry Price, Exit Price, Entry Time, Exit Time, PnL, and Fees. Make sure your CSV has headers.
